(LifeSiteNews) — A man witnessing for life, holding a sign calling for people to “pray” to end abortion was ticketed again by police in the province of Quebec for his pro-life witness after his first ticket was dropped, leaving his lawyer baffled but determined to help clear his client’s name.
Brian Jenkins of Sherbrooke, Quebec, was given a ticket in 2025 for displaying signs calling out abortion during the annual “40 Days for Life” campaign that takes place nationwide.
After legal pressure, the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms (JCCF) said in a press release sent to LifeSiteNews that Jenkins’ first ticket was dropped on September 30, 2026. However, his constitutional lawyer, Mr. Olivier Séguin, was not notified.
Jenkins was again ticketed on October 3 for the same pro-life witnessing shortly after the first ticket was taken away. The JCCF noted that both tickets are based on a city bylaw banning “sandwich boards,” but that applies to commercial advertising.
Earlier this year, LifeSiteNews reported on Jenkins’ case and the JCCF’s legal assistance.
